History
Freedom Lift is a division of Cook Technologies, Inc., which began business in 1946 in Green Lane, Pennsylvania. Donald and Charles Cook founded Cook Specialty Company in 1946 and commenced operations in an old elementary school building; the original plant site was approximately 2,000 square feet. Today the vision of the Cook Brothers has evolved in to a sophisticated manufacturing and corporate, facility constructed around the original building. Our Corporate Headquarters encompasses more than 110,000 square feet and is situated on over 15 acres in beautiful Green Lane, Pennsylvania.
In 1974, Cook Specialty Company established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan so the current and future employees would be employee owners and maintain a substantial shareholder interest. At the time the ESOP was established, Cook's main line of business was the manufacture of chair frames for furniture markets. Today, Freedom Lift and Cook Technologies are committed to quality and manufacturing excellence. We have established ourselves in many niche and specialty markets for some of the most recognized names in business today. We are proud to be an award winning supplier of manufactured goods to companies such as Xerox, Stryker Medical & Welch Allyn.
